Recombinant human Epidermal Growth Factor (rhEGF) is a lab-made version of a natural protein your body uses to heal wounds. It works by stimulating your skin cells to grow and repair damaged tissue faster, helping wounds close up more quickly.
Binds to epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR) on keratinocytes and fibroblasts, activating intracellular signalling pathways that promote cellular proliferation, migration, and differentiation to accelerate wound re-epithelialisation and tissue repair. This enhanced growth factor activity stimulates angiogenesis and collagen deposition, facilitating closure of chronic and acute wounds.
