Who is this for?

This is a combination medicine that contains three active ingredients: paracetamol (a painkiller and fever reducer), phenylephrine (which unblocks your stuffy nose by shrinking swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages), and diphenhydramine (an antihistamine that stops sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes while also helping to suppress cough).

Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby decreasing fever and pain; blocks alpha-1 adrenergic receptors to cause nasal vasoconstriction and relieve congestion; and antagonizes H1 histamine receptors to suppress allergic responses including sneezing, rhinorrhea, and lacrimation.

Is Paracetamol; safe to take with another drug?

Adults should take 1 to 2 caplets every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but do not take more than 8 caplets in 24 hours. You can take it with or without food, but taking it with a little food can help if it upsets your stomach. Do not use for more than 7 days without seeing a doctor.

Since this medicine is taken only when you have symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you forget a dose, simply take it when you remember but make sure you do not take more than the maximum number of doses in 24 hours.

Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine as it increases drowsiness and can damage your liver when combined with paracetamol. Avoid taking it alongside other paracetamol-containing medicines like Tylenol or other cold medicines to prevent overdose. If you are taking medicines for high blood pressure, consult your doctor first because phenylephrine can raise blood pressure.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so do not leave it in your car or near a window. Keep the pack tightly closed to protect from humidity and always keep it out of the reach of children.
