Who is this for?
This is a combination drug that contains paracetamol (a painkiller and fever reducer) and chlorphenamine maleate (an antihistamine that reduces allergic symptoms like sneezing and runny nose). The paracetamol brings down fever and relieves pain, while the chlorphenamine dries up a runny nose and stops sneezing.
Inhibits COX enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis, thereby decreasing pain and fever; simultaneously blocks H1 histamine receptors to suppress allergic symptoms including rhinitis, pruritus, and lacrimation.

For adults, take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed, but do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours. If it is a syrup like Khairakid Cold and Catarrh Syrup, follow the dosage on the pack. You can take it with or without food. Note that this drug can make you feel sleepy, so avoid driving or operating machines after taking it.
Since this drug is usually taken only when you have symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you forget a dose, take it when you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one. Never double up to make up for a missed dose.
Do not combine this with other cold and flu medicines that already contain paracetamol — many Nigerian cold remedies have paracetamol in them, so check the label to avoid overdose. This drug causes drowsiness, so avoid driving okada, danfo, or any vehicle after taking it. Buy only from registered pharmacies or patent medicine stores — avoid roadside sellers as the drug may have been stored in extreme heat which can reduce its effectiveness.
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this drug — alcohol increases drowsiness and can also damage your liver when combined with paracetamol. Do not take this drug alongside other paracetamol-containing medicines (like Procold, Combiflam, or other cold remedies) as you may accidentally overdose on paracetamol. Be careful with sedatives or sleeping pills as the drowsiness can become very strong.
