Proton Pump Inhibitor + Antibiotic + Antiprotozoal (Ulcer Triple Therapy)
Brand of Omeprazole; Clarithromycin; Tinidazole
Last reviewed June 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination of three medicines — Omeprazole (which reduces stomach acid), Clarithromycin (an antibiotic), and Tinidazole (which kills certain bacteria and parasites). Together, they work to kill a stomach bacteria called H. pylori that causes ulcer.
Inhibits gastric H+/K+-ATPase proton pump, reducing gastric acid secretion and creating an optimal environment for bacterial eradication; Clarithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, while Tinidazole generates cytotoxic metabolites that damage H. pylori DNA, together eradicating the infection and promoting ulcer healing.

This usually comes as a combi kit (like Omefast Plus Combi Kit). The typical adult dose is Omeprazole 20mg + Clarithromycin 500mg + Tinidazole 500mg, all taken together twice daily (morning and evening) for 7 to 14 days. Take the medicines with food or just before eating. Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water — do not crush or chew them.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Complete the full course of treatment even if you start feeling better — stopping early can make the bacteria resistant and your ulcer may come back. Do not buy incomplete kits or loose tablets from roadside sellers; always purchase from a licensed pharmacy. Do not share this medicine with someone else who has ulcer symptoms — they need to see a doctor for their own diagnosis first.
Avoid alcohol completely while taking this medicine — Tinidazole and alcohol can cause severe nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. Do not take with blood thinners like warfarin without your doctor's knowledge as it can increase bleeding risk. Avoid using with ergotamine-based migraine medicines as the combination can be dangerous.
