Corticosteroid + Antifungal combination
Brand of Mometasone furoate; Miconazole
Last reviewed June 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination cream that contains two medicines — mometasone (a steroid that reduces swelling, redness, and itching) and miconazole (an antifungal that kills fungus). Together they treat skin infections where both fungus and inflammation are present.
Binds to glucocorticoid receptors to suppress inflammatory cytokine production and immune response, while miconazole inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis by blocking lanosterol 14α-demethylase, thereby eliminating the fungal infection and associated inflammation.

Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected skin area twice daily — morning and night. Gently rub it in. Wash and dry the area before applying. Use it for the number of days your doctor or pharmacist recommends, usually 2 to 4 weeks. Do not use it for longer than prescribed.
If you forget to apply the cream, put it on as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not apply extra cream to make up for it.
Do not use this cream for longer than your doctor prescribed — using steroid creams too long can damage your skin and cause bleaching. Do not use it as a body cream or skin lightening product, which is a common misuse in Nigeria. Buy only from licensed pharmacies and look for trusted brands like Elica-M Cream to avoid fake products.
Avoid using other steroid creams or antifungal creams on the same area at the same time unless your doctor says so. If you are using warfarin (blood thinner), let your doctor know as miconazole can affect how warfarin works even when applied on the skin. Avoid applying other medicated creams or ointments on the same spot.
