This is a combination medicine that contains metronidazole (an antibiotic that kills bacteria and certain parasites) and povidone-iodine (an antiseptic that kills germs on contact). Together, they work to fight infection and keep wounds clean.
Inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis and disrupts anaerobic microbial metabolism (metronidazole), while iodine denatures microbial proteins and oxidizes essential cellular components, providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage against bacteria, anaerobes, and some fungi in infected wounds.

If you forget to apply it, simply clean the wound and apply the medicine as soon as you remember. Then continue with your regular schedule. Do not apply double the amount to make up for a missed application.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Always buy from a reputable pharmacy; avoid buying wound powders or ointments from roadside sellers or open markets as they may be fake or expired. Use the product for the full duration your doctor recommends, even if the wound looks better, to prevent the infection from coming back. Do not apply on deep puncture wounds or very large burns without seeing a doctor first.
Do not use together with other antiseptic products like hydrogen peroxide on the same wound, as they can cancel each other out. If you are using any other medicated cream or ointment on the same wound, space them out or ask your pharmacist. Avoid using on very large body areas if you are taking lithium (a mental health drug), as absorbed iodine can interact with it.
