Who is this for?
This is a combination drug containing two blood pressure medicines — Lisinopril (which relaxes your blood vessels) and Hydrochlorothiazide (a 'water tablet' that helps your body get rid of extra salt and water through urine). Together, they lower high blood pressure more effectively than either one alone.
Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), reducing angiotensin II formation and decreasing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion; simultaneously inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule through thiazide diuretic activity, promoting natriuresis and reducing circulating fluid volume to lower blood pressure.

Take one tablet once daily, usually in the morning. You can take it with or without food, but try to take it at the same time every day. Drink enough water during the day. Your doctor may adjust your dose depending on how your blood pressure responds.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for the missed dose.
Do not buy this medicine from roadside sellers or unregistered pharmacies — fake blood pressure drugs are dangerous and common. Do not stop taking it because you feel fine — high blood pressure often has no symptoms but still damages your heart, kidneys, and brain. Do not share this prescription with someone else who also has high blood pressure — their dose and drug choice may be different.
Potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium — taking these with this drug can cause dangerously high potassium levels. Painkillers like ibuprofen and diclofenac (common in Nigeria) can reduce the blood pressure-lowering effect and harm your kidneys. Alcohol can make the dizziness and lightheadedness worse, so limit or avoid alcohol.
