Light Kaolin is taken as needed when you have loose stools, not on a fixed schedule. If your symptoms have improved, there is no need to take another dose. Just take the next dose if diarrhoea returns.
Diarrhoea can cause dangerous dehydration quickly in Nigeria's hot climate, so always drink ORS (oral rehydration salts) or plenty of fluids alongside this medicine. Do not use Light Kaolin for more than 2 days without seeing a doctor, as the diarrhoea may need a different treatment. Buy only from reputable pharmacies and check the expiry date, and avoid buying opened or unlabeled mixtures from roadside sellers.
Light Kaolin can reduce the absorption of other medicines you take by mouth, so take other medications at least 2 hours before or after taking kaolin. This includes antibiotics, antimalarials, and even paracetamol, and spacing them out is important so your other drugs still work properly.
