Antifungal, Antibiotic, Antiprotozoal (combination kit)
Brand of Fluconazole; Azithromycin; Secnidazole
Last reviewed June 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination kit containing three different medicines — Fluconazole (an antifungal), Azithromycin (an antibiotic), and Secnidazole (an anti-infection drug) — that work together to treat mixed infections, especially sexually transmitted infections (STIs) caused by bacteria, fungi, and tiny organisms called protozoa.
Inhibits fungal lanosterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51), disrupting ergosterol synthesis and compromising cell membrane integrity; azithromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit; secnidazole generates cytotoxic nitroso radicals that damage protozoal DNA and disrupt anaerobic metabolism.
Prescription Required

The S.A.F. Kit is usually taken as a single-dose treatment — all the tablets are taken together at once or as directed on the pack. Typically: Fluconazole 150mg (1 tablet), Azithromycin 1g (usually 2 tablets of 500mg), and Secnidazole 2g (usually 2 tablets of 1g). Take them with a meal or snack to reduce stomach upset. Follow the exact instructions on the pack or from your doctor.
Since this kit is usually a one-time dose, missing a dose is unlikely. However, if your doctor prescribed a different schedule and you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one — do not double up.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Make sure you buy the original S.A.F. Kit from a reputable pharmacy — fake drugs are common with roadside sellers and may not work or could harm you. Your sexual partner should also be treated at the same time to prevent re-infection. Do not drink alcohol for at least 2 days after taking this kit to avoid serious side effects.
Avoid alcohol completely while taking this kit and for at least 48 hours after, especially because of Secnidazole — mixing them can cause serious nausea, vomiting, and cramps. Be careful if you are taking blood-thinning drugs like warfarin, as Fluconazole and Azithromycin can increase their effect. Let your doctor know if you are on any heart medications, as Azithromycin can affect your heartbeat.
Check your specific combination
