How to take this drug

Adults usually take 1-2 tablespoons (15-30ml) two to three times daily, or as directed on the product label. You can take it before or after food, but taking it after food may reduce stomach upset. Shake the bottle well before use.

What if I Miss a Dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for it.

What to watch out for

Buy only from reputable pharmacies and check the expiry date — avoid blood tonics sold by roadside vendors or in open markets without proper labelling. Do not take more than the recommended dose thinking it will build your blood faster, as too much iron can be harmful. If you are already taking another multivitamin or iron supplement, check with your pharmacist to avoid taking too much iron.

Drug Interactions

Avoid taking this tonic at the same time as tetracycline or ciprofloxacin antibiotics, as iron can reduce their effectiveness — space them at least 2 hours apart. Antacids (like aluminium or magnesium-containing drugs) can also reduce iron absorption. Tea and coffee taken close to your dose can reduce how well the iron works.
