How to take this drug

For adults, the usual dose is one to two tablespoonfuls (15-30ml) taken two to three times daily, or as directed on the MIM Tonic pack. Take it after meals to reduce stomach upset. You can mix it with water or juice if the taste is too strong.

What if I Miss a Dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for it.

What to watch out for

Buy only from reputable pharmacies — avoid roadside sellers or open market products that may be expired or fake. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as too much iron can be dangerous, especially for children. If your tiredness and weakness do not improve after a few weeks of use, see a doctor for proper blood tests.

Drug Interactions

Do not take this tonic at the same time as antacids (like aluminium or magnesium hydroxide) or tetracycline antibiotics, as they reduce iron absorption — space them at least 2 hours apart. Tea, coffee, and milk can also reduce how well your body absorbs the iron in this tonic.

Who Should NOT Take This

People who are allergic to any of the ingredients
people with iron overload conditions (like haemochromatosis or sickle cell patients who receive frequent blood transfusions)
and people with Wilson's disease (a copper storage disorder) should not take this tonic.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it near windows or in your car. Keep the bottle tightly closed after use and store it out of reach of children.
