Who is this for?

Estradiol is a form of estrogen, which is a natural female hormone. It works by replacing the estrogen your body is no longer making enough of, helping to balance your hormone levels.

Binds to estrogen receptors (α and β) in target tissues, activating genomic and non-genomic signaling pathways that restore estrogen-dependent gene expression, alleviate vasomotor symptoms, and promote bone mineralization to prevent osteoporosis.

Is Estradiol safe to take with another drug?

Usually taken as one tablet daily, with or without food. Your doctor will decide the exact dose — it typically ranges from 0.5 mg to 2 mg once a day. Try to take it at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water. In Nigeria, you may find it sold as Tryal Tablets.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for the one you missed.

• stomach upset or bloating
• mood changes or feeling emotional
• spotting or light bleeding from the vagina

St. John's Wort (a herbal supplement) can reduce how well estradiol works. Some anti-seizure drugs like carbamazepine and phenytoin can also make it less effective. Grapefruit juice may increase the amount of estradiol in your blood, so limit it.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat — this is especially important in hot Nigerian weather. Keep the tablets in their original pack and far away from children. Do not store in the bathroom where humidity is high.
