Who is this for?
Esomeprazole is a drug that reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces by blocking the tiny pumps in your stomach wall that release acid. It belongs to a group called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and helps your stomach and food pipe heal from acid damage.
Inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase proton pump on gastric parietal cells, irreversibly blocking the final step of gastric acid secretion and reducing intragastric pH. This suppresses acid-related damage to the gastrointestinal mucosa and creates an optimal environment for H. pylori eradication when used with antimicrobial agents.
Heartburn, stomach ulcer, acid reflux (when acid flows back up into your throat), damage to the food pipe from too much stomach acid, stomach ulcer caused by pain relievers like ibuprofen or diclofenac, infection caused by a germ called H. pylori (used together with antibiotics)

If you forget to take your dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two doses at once to make up for it.
