Erenumab (sold as Pasurta in Nigeria) is an injection that works by blocking a protein called CGRP in your brain, which is involved in triggering migraine headaches. It helps prevent migraines from happening in the first place.
Binds to calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide involved in migraine pathogenesis, preventing its interaction with CGRP receptors on sensory nerves and thereby reducing migraine frequency and severity.

If you miss your monthly injection, take it as soon as you remember, then continue with your normal monthly schedule from that new date. Do not take two injections to make up for the missed one.
This is a prescription-only medicine, so do not buy from roadside sellers or unregistered pharmacies, as it requires proper cold storage to remain effective. Make sure your pharmacy stores it in a refrigerator; if the syringe feels warm or has been left out for more than 7 days, do not use it. Store Pasurta in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). In Nigeria's hot climate, do not leave it outside the fridge, as heat will damage it. Keep it in the original carton to protect from light. Do not freeze. If needed, it can be kept at room temperature (up to 25°C) for up to 7 days, but once out of the fridge, do not put it back. Keep away from children.
