Who is this for?
This is a combination drug containing two medicines: enalapril (which relaxes blood vessels) and hydrochlorothiazide (a 'water tablet' that helps your body remove excess water and salt through urine), working together to lower high blood pressure.
Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), preventing conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II and reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion; simultaneously blocks sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule via thiazide mechanism, promoting natriuresis and reducing blood volume.
High blood pressure (hypertension), especially when one medicine alone is not enough to control your BP

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for the missed dose.
This is a prescription medicine, so do not buy it from roadside vendors or take someone else's BP medicine, as the wrong dose can be dangerous. Do not stop taking it suddenly because your BP feels normal; high blood pressure often has no symptoms but still damages your body. Visit your doctor regularly to check your BP, kidneys, and potassium levels.
Avoid taking potassium supplements or salt substitutes that contain potassium, as this combination can raise potassium levels dangerously. NSAIDs like ibuprofen (Brufen) can reduce the blood pressure-lowering effect and affect your kidneys. Alcohol can increase dizziness and lower your blood pressure too much, so reduce or avoid it.

This drug is NOT safe during pregnancy. It can seriously harm or even kill an unborn baby, especially in the second and third trimesters. It is also not recommended during breastfeeding. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near windows. Keep the container tightly closed to protect from humidity, and always keep it out of the reach of children.
