For pile: Take 2 tablets of 500mg (total 1000mg) daily — you can split it into one in the morning and one in the evening, or take both together with food. During a serious pile attack, your doctor may increase this to 6 tablets daily for the first 4 days, then 4 tablets daily for the next 3 days. For leg vein problems: Take 1 tablet of 500mg twice daily with meals. You may find it as Dr. Meyer's Pilex Tablet in Nigerian pharmacies.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take double to catch up.
Buy only from licensed pharmacies — avoid buying from roadside sellers or open markets where the drug may be expired or fake. If your pile symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks of use, see a doctor as it may need further treatment. Do not use diosmin as a substitute for seeing a doctor if you notice blood in your stool.
Diosmin may interact with blood-thinning drugs like warfarin and increase bleeding risk, so tell your doctor if you take any blood thinner. It may also affect how your body handles certain drugs processed by the liver. There is no major alcohol interaction, but it is best to reduce alcohol if you have pile or vein problems since alcohol makes them worse.
