Dimetindene maleate is an antihistamine that works by blocking the chemical histamine in your body, which is responsible for causing allergic reactions like itching, sneezing, and skin rashes.
Blocks H1 histamine receptors on mast cells and basophils, preventing histamine-mediated allergic responses including vasodilation, increased vascular permeability, and itching. Also exhibits anticholinergic and local anesthetic properties that contribute to symptom relief in allergic conditions.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.
This drug can make you very drowsy, so do not drive, ride okada, or operate machines after taking it. Only buy Afradin Drops or other brands from a licensed pharmacy, not from roadside sellers or open markets, as fake drugs are common. Do not give adult doses to children: always use the correct children's dose.
Alcohol makes the drowsiness from this drug much worse, so avoid drinking beer, palm wine, or any alcohol while taking it. Sleeping pills, anxiety medications, and other antihistamines can also increase drowsiness dangerously. If you are taking any medication for seizures or depression, tell your doctor or pharmacist before using dimetindene.
