Digoxin is a heart medicine that helps your heart beat stronger and at a steady rhythm. It works by strengthening the pumping action of the heart and slowing down a heart that is beating too fast.
Inhibits the Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase pump, increasing intracellular sodium and calcium levels, which enhances cardiac contractility and slows atrioventricular node conduction. Additionally, it increases vagal tone, further slowing heart rate and reducing ectopic activity in atrial fibrillation.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, but if it is close to the time for your next dose (within 12 hours), skip the missed one and continue with your normal schedule. Never take two doses at once to make up for a missed one, as this can be very dangerous with digoxin.
