Antifungal, Antibiotic, and Corticosteroid combination
Last reviewed July 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination cream that contains three active ingredients: clotrimazole (fights fungal infections), neomycin sulphate (fights bacterial infections), and betamethasone dipropionate (a strong steroid that reduces swelling, itching, and redness). It works by tackling infection and inflammation at the same time.
Inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis via lanosterol 14α-demethylase (clotrimazole), disrupts bacterial protein synthesis via 30S ribosomal subunit binding (neomycin), and suppresses inflammatory mediator release through glucocorticoid receptor activation (betamethasone dipropionate), providing combined antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory activity.
Skin infections caused by fungus and bacteria together, eczema with infection, ringworm with inflammation, rashes with itching and infection, jock itch (crotch rash), infected skin patches

If you forget to apply it, just apply it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next application, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not apply double the amount to make up for it.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Do not use this cream for longer than 2 weeks without a doctor's guidance, as Nigerians sometimes continue using steroid creams for months, which can seriously damage your skin. Do not use it as a bleaching cream or general body cream, even though some people misuse steroid creams this way. Buy only from reputable pharmacies, not from roadside vendors or unverified sellers like those selling Konisklear Cream and similar products.
Avoid using other steroid creams or medicated skin products on the same area at the same time, as this can increase side effects. Do not mix with other antibiotic creams unless your doctor advises it. If you are taking any medication by mouth, let your doctor or pharmacist know before using this cream.
Check your specific combination
Is it safe to take Clotrimazole; with your other drugs?
