Clomifene citrate is a fertility drug that works by stimulating your ovaries to release eggs. It tricks your brain into thinking estrogen levels are low, which causes your body to produce more of the hormones needed for ovulation.
Binds to estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, blocking negative feedback and increasing gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion to stimulate ovarian follicle development and ovulation.
Difficulty getting pregnant due to irregular ovulation or not ovulating at all (anovulation), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)-related infertility
