Usually started at a low dose of one 3.125mg or 6.25mg tablet taken twice daily with food to reduce dizziness. Your doctor may gradually increase the dose over several weeks depending on how your body responds. Do not increase or stop the dose on your own — always follow your doctor's instructions.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Never take two doses at once to make up for a missed one.
Do not stop taking carvedilol suddenly — stopping without your doctor's guidance can cause dangerous spikes in blood pressure or heart problems. Always buy from a reputable pharmacy and check for NAFDAC registration — avoid roadside sellers. Do not share this medicine with someone else even if they have similar symptoms.
Avoid drinking alcohol as it can make dizziness and low blood pressure much worse. Be careful if you are taking diabetes medicines like insulin or glibenclamide because carvedilol can hide the signs of low blood sugar. Do not combine with other blood pressure drugs like amlodipine or verapamil without your doctor's knowledge as your blood pressure may drop too low.
