Who is this for?
Buserelin is a synthetic hormone that works by controlling the release of certain reproductive hormones in your body. It first briefly increases, then greatly reduces the production of hormones like estrogen and testosterone.
Binds to and activates GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, causing initial elevation of LH and FSH; sustained exposure leads to receptor downregulation and suppression of gonadotropin release, resulting in decreased testosterone (in males) and estrogen (in females).
Prostate cancer, endometriosis (a condition where womb tissue grows outside the womb causing painful periods), uterine fibroids, infertility treatment (used as part of IVF procedures)
