Who is this for?
Brimonidine tartrate is an eye drop that lowers pressure inside your eye by reducing the amount of fluid your eye produces and helping it drain better.
Activates alpha-2 adrenergic receptors on ciliary body tissues, decreasing aqueous humour production and increasing uveoscleral outflow, thereby reducing intraocular pressure.

If you forget a dose, put in the drop as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue your normal schedule. Do not put in double drops to make up for the one you missed.
Only buy from licensed pharmacies and avoid roadside sellers or open market vendors, as eye drops stored in hot conditions may lose effectiveness or become contaminated. Do not share your eye drops with anyone else, even if they have the same eye problem. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before putting in the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
Blood pressure-lowering medicines (like amlodipine or lisinopril) can cause your blood pressure to drop too low when used together with brimonidine. Medicines that make you drowsy such as antihistamines (like chlorpheniramine or promethazine) or sleeping tablets can increase the sleepy feeling. Alcohol can also increase drowsiness, so avoid drinking while using this medication.

Do not use brimonidine during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor specifically tells you to, as its safety for unborn babies and nursing infants has not been fully established.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Nigerian weather can be very hot, so avoid leaving it in your car or near a window. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children. Discard the bottle 28 days after first opening it.
