Steroid, Antifungal, and Antibiotic combination (topical)
Last reviewed July 2026
Who is this for?
This is a combination cream that contains three active ingredients: beclometasone (a steroid that reduces swelling and itching), clotrimazole (an antifungal that kills fungus), and neomycin (an antibiotic that kills bacteria). Together, they treat skin infections that involve inflammation, fungus, and bacteria at the same time.
Beclometasone binds to glucocorticoid receptors, suppressing inflammatory cytokines and immune cell activation; Clotrimazole inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis by blocking lanosterol 14α-demethylase; Neomycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, making this combination effective against inflammatory, fungal, and bacterial components of infected skin lesions.

If you forget to apply it, put it on as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next application, just skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not apply double the amount to make up for the missed dose.
Important for antibiotics
Always complete the full course even if you feel better. Stopping early can cause the infection to return and become drug-resistant.
Do not use this cream longer than your doctor recommended, as using steroid creams for too long can damage your skin permanently. Make sure you buy Mesone Cream or similar products from a licensed pharmacy, not from roadside sellers or unverified market stalls. Do not share your cream with others even if they have a similar skin problem, as their infection may need different treatment.
Avoid using other steroid creams or medicated skin products on the same area at the same time unless your doctor says so. If you are taking any medicine that affects your immune system, tell your doctor before using this cream. Alcohol does not directly interact, but keeping the treated area clean and dry helps the cream work better.
Check your specific combination
Is it safe to take Beclometasone; with your other drugs?
Do not use this cream during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless a doctor specifically prescribes it, as the steroid and antibiotic components may pose risks to the baby.
