This is a combination tablet containing three blood pressure medicines — Amlodipine (which relaxes blood vessels), Valsartan (which blocks a chemical that tightens blood vessels), and Hydrochlorothiazide (a 'water tablet' that helps your body get rid of excess salt and water) — all working together to lower high blood pressure.
Blocks L-type calcium channels (amlodipine) to reduce vascular smooth muscle contraction, antagonizes angiotensin II type 1 receptors (valsartan) to inhibit vasoconstriction and aldosterone release, and inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule (hydrochlorothiazide) to promote natriuresis and reduce blood volume, collectively lowering systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure.

Take one tablet once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Try to take it at the same time every day so you don't forget. Your doctor will choose the right strength based on how well your blood pressure is controlled.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue as normal. Do not take two tablets at once to make up for a missed dose.
Only buy this medicine from licensed pharmacies — avoid roadside vendors or open market sellers, as fake blood pressure drugs are common in Nigeria. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly because your blood pressure feels 'normal' — high blood pressure usually has no symptoms but still damages your body. Always check your blood pressure regularly at a pharmacy or clinic to make sure the medicine is working.
Avoid taking potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes without your doctor's approval, as Valsartan can raise potassium levels. Be careful with painkillers like ibuprofen or diclofenac (very common in Nigeria) as they can reduce the effectiveness of this medicine and harm your kidneys. Limit alcohol intake as it can increase dizziness and further lower your blood pressure.
