Who is this for?
This is a combination antacid and anti-gas medicine that works by neutralizing excess stomach acid (aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide), forming a protective layer over the stomach contents to prevent acid from rising up (sodium alginate), numbing stomach pain (oxethazaine), and breaking up gas bubbles in your stomach (simeticone).
Neutralizes gastric acid through chemical buffering by aluminium and magnesium hydroxides, while sodium alginate forms a protective viscous barrier over the gastric mucosa to prevent reflux; oxethazaine provides topical anaesthesia to the oesophageal and gastric mucosa, and simeticone reduces surface tension of gas bubbles to facilitate their expulsion and reduce bloating.

Since this medicine is usually taken when you feel symptoms, there is no strict schedule. If you are taking it regularly and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, just skip the missed one and do not double up.

Do not use this medicine continuously for more than 2 weeks without seeing a doctor, as prolonged use can cause mineral imbalances. If your stomach symptoms persist or get worse, see a doctor, as it could be something more serious than ordinary heartburn.
This medicine can reduce the absorption of many other drugs including antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and tetracycline, so take them at least 2 hours apart. It can also affect how iron tablets and blood pressure medicines work. Avoid taking it at the same time as other medications; space them out by at least 1 to 2 hours.
